I have now decided to declare that Jazzy Jeff Keppinger is my favorite Red. Any other takers?

A star is born
Johnny Cueto wins his major league debut....7 innings, 1 hit, 1 run, 10 k's. Reds beat Arizona 3-2.
According to Elias Sports Bureau.....Daisuke Matsuzaka was the last pitcher to record 10 strikeouts in his Major League debut (10 Ks in 7 innings at Kansas City on April 5, 2007).
Since 1900, until today, no Reds pitcher had 10+ Ks in his MLB debut.
According to Elias Sports Bureau, Johnny Cueto is the first pitcher to throw at least 5.0 perfect innings in his Major League debut since Sea's Ken Cloude threw 5.1 perfect innings on 8/9/97 vs WSox.

Couple of thoughts
1. Did you know that Corey Patterson is making $3 million this year? He was getting the $500,000 to come to camp but John Fay said he will get the bigger salary. Does that change how you feel about him? Keep in mind Hopper is making $400,000.
2. Anyone see Coffey pitch today? Jeff Brantley said, "this is not intelligent pitching". Reminds me of his entire season last year. At least he is skinnier.

Ken Rosenthal has his latest column up at FoxSports.com. As usual he is not shy about stirring up rumors. Let's take a look at what the rumor-guru has to say:
* The Reds have put Ryan Freel on the market, but more teams appear to be interested in Scott Hatteberg. However, Rosenthal indicates that it is unlikely for the Red to trade Hatteberg even if Joey Votto is named the starter.
* The Tigers, Reds and Orioles all tried to acquire backup catcher Brayan Pena from the Braves, but the Braves do not appear interested in letting him go
