A star is born

Johnny Cueto wins his major league debut....7 innings, 1 hit, 1 run, 10 k's. Reds beat Arizona 3-2.
According to Elias Sports Bureau.....Daisuke Matsuzaka was the last pitcher to record 10 strikeouts in his Major League debut (10 Ks in 7 innings at Kansas City on April 5, 2007).
Since 1900, until today, no Reds pitcher had 10+ Ks in his MLB debut.
According to Elias Sports Bureau, Johnny Cueto is the first pitcher to throw at least 5.0 perfect innings in his Major League debut since Sea's Ken Cloude threw 5.1 perfect innings on 8/9/97 vs WSox.

I was only able to watch the Pitch-by-Pitch track on my phone but the one thing I did notice that he was ahead of almost every hitter. That is exactly what we want and the reason Bailey is in AAA. Sounds like he had great control today. Anyone go to the game and see him in person?

Cueto was lights out, his change is amazing, he really knows how to pitch & is unflappable on the mound. Wow! unreal for a rookie, things are looking up for the Reds, the next few years are going to be fun with the youngsters.
